Icon Unknown Status.jpg Track 9: Uncle Eck Dunford - Old Shoes and Leggins Victor 40060-B; Recorded in Bristol, Tennessee, 31.10.1928

No image of record label available. www.78discography.com does not assign authorship.

Harry Smith's anthology booklet does, however, assign authorship to "E Dunford", while victor.library.ucsb.edu gives "Uncle Eck Dunford" as the composer.

allmusic.com gives Dunford's death date as 1953, which would put this composition in copyright until 1st January 2024.

However, the Roud Folksong Index classifies this song as a version of Roud 362, and lists many collected versions, dating back as far as 1887. [1] There are therefore resaonable grounds for treating this composition as public domain.
